Transparency and Accountability + 2015 Annual Report

Every year, Serrv undertakes a 3rd party audit of our financial statements. This is a major undertaking – involving numerous reports and multiple days of hosting the independent accountants at our New Windsor facility where they can ask for and check any related document they require. This process finished in late March and we have once again been granted an ‘unqualified opinion’ on our results for 2015. We are proud of this achievement!

At Serrv we feel this process is vitally important. As a nonprofit organization, it assures our supporters that we are operating in a fiscally sound manner. As a fair trade organization, it exemplifies our adherence to one of the ten fair trade principles – transparency and accountability. This principle is important because it helps to level the playing field between southern artisans and northern buyers. Another way to describe this principle is honest relationships, which are central to how we work with all of our artisan and farmer partners around the world.

Thank you for your ongoing trust and support!
